I am running for the school board because I want to see Prince William County Schools achieve the goal of a world class education. Our schools assist families and communities in making a positive difference in students’ lives as they grow up and take their place in the world as leaders, thinkers, workers and innovators. Our students and families need strong advocates who look out for their interests and who will fight to make sure that they get the opportunities they need to succeed. I will always advance the best interests of our children and families, and will continue to be an effective advocate for the students, families and teachers whom I represent.

Before being elected to the Board, I served on multiple Principal’s Advisory Councils, the Superintendent’s Gifted Advisory Committee, several boundary committees, and volunteered in schools. I know first-hand both as a parent and volunteer, and now as a member of the Board, the importance of parental and community engagement in our children’s education. Since being elected, I have attended as many school events across the 12 schools in the Gainesville District as I can so that I can celebrate student achievement and connect with students and their families. I am proud of my record of being responsive to and connecting with the community I serve. I hold regular office hours to meet with parents and teachers, hear their concerns, and field suggestions for how to improve our schools.
